35F cruel for not wanting to date him anymore M40?

I was in the VERY early stages of dating a guy; I’m talking 3 weeks tops. He seemed so genuinely lovely and kind. BUT… My ‘spidy senses’ have kicked in after noticing things. I HAVE called it off but he’s made me feel bad for doing so, and now I’m wondering if I’ve just booted a good guy for no reason and I’m overreacting. These “things” I’ve noticed include:

1. He keeps talking about his past. He divorced 2 years ago; she cheated and walked out on him and their kids. He doesn’t go a day without mentioning it somehow. It always seems like he wants sympathy from me

2. He cries over his past when talking to me in detail about what his ex had done. (I was just trying to talk about a TV show and he switches the subject and tries to FT me crying) 👀 he is always looking for sympathy

3. He’s too much too soon… “you’re the most amazing person I have ever met, I’ve never felt this way, I think you’re the one” I told him I hate to cook and at every meal time he goes into detail about the extravagant meals he’s made that day

4. If I mention something he’s said and it’s irritated me a little, he goes off the wall “I’m such a fuck up, I’m so sorry, my kids told me I’m destined to die alone. My daughter just told me I’m a c*** for upsetting the lady I like” … why would any stable man say that to a child? And why would a child respond that way?! He’s even videoed his son sending me a message saying “go on a date with my dad please!”

5. Fishing for compliments, saying “I’m not handsome, I’m fat, I’m old, I don’t know what you see in me, you’re a goddess”

6. Tries SO hard to impress me, mentioning money a lot and saying how he wants to spoil me with gifts and trips

7. He told me my lips are “so sweet” … it’s a bit too sickly for me

8. He’s very pushy in seeing me. He wants to see me now, he can’t wait, he will even meet me at the store, ANYTHING! Constantly texting. Re-texting if I don’t reply quickly or trying to reach me on a different app, apologising incase he’s upset me somehow. Dude I’m just taking a nap!
