How to break up with someone I’ve only been casually seeing for a month

I’ve been seeing this guy for roughly a month, and we’re not officially dating. We’ve been on about 3 dates and gotten physical, but haven’t gone all the way.

I’ve decided he’s not what I’m looking for and need to tell him that, but I can’t decide how. I felt like text would be the way to go for something casual and still so new, but I’ve seen so many people talking about how awful text breakups are that now I’m not sure.

Does it even count as a “breakup” at this stage? He’s a legitimately wonderful guy and I really don’t want to hurt his feelings. How would you guys do this? And any tips on wording?
