What are your thoughts on sexual activity on the first date

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a poor performer on the first date. I think it’s nerves, bc I’m definitely attracted to my dates. What are your thoughts on making out, or petting/ grinding on the first or second date, but not leading to sex?

Still getting used to this casual dating thing. Tbh blows my mind that so many people are comfortable having sex immediately. Or not satisfied with petting initially. Idk maybe I’m tripping
